  1. Mix all the dry ingredients and set aside
  2. Cream sugar and cooking oil until soft then add one egg at a time as you continue mixing, then add vanilla essence
  3. Fold in the flour mixture as you alternate with milk
  4. Grease your baking tin
  5. Pour in your batter and tap to release trapped air
  6. Light your jiko and wait until all the charcoal are red hot
  7. Pour salt on a big sufuria and preheat for 10 minutes
  8. Put your batter and cover, put hot charcoal on top and bake for 30-40minutes
  9. Insert toothpick and if it comes out clean it means the cake is ready
