  14. Make ready 1 bay leaf
  15. Take 3/4 th cup besan or gram flour
  16. Take Pinch cumin seeds
  17. Make ready Pinch asafoetida
  18. Take to taste Salt and sugar
  19. Get 5 tablespoons Mustard oil
  20. Get 1 handful dried fenugreek leaves or kasoori methi
  21. Prepare 1 teaspoon Ghee

  1. Peel and boil the diced potatoes and raw bananas with salt

  4. Knead the mixture well and make small balls out of it.
  5. Deep fry them in hot oil until golden brown.
  6. In a pan, heat a table spoon of oil. Add the bay leaves, dried red chillies, a pinch of asafoetida and whole garam masala when the oil is hot.
  7. Add the chopped onions and tomatoes with salt and saute for 1 min.
  8. Add the ginger paste.
  9. In a small bowl mix the rest of the spices with sugar and make a thick paste with water.
  10. Add the mixture to the pan and fry for 2 mins.
  11. Hand crush the kasoori Meethi leaves and add to the mixture
  12. Once the spices are fried properly and have become fragrant, turn off the stove and let it cool for 5 mins
  13. Make a smooth blend of the mixture
  14. Heat a teaspoon of oil and add the blended mixture. Fry for 2 mins.
  15. Add the coconut milk and simmer for 5 mins
  16. Add a little warm water if needed. The gravy should be thick and creamy.
  17. Add the raw banana balls and let it boil for 2 mins in the gravy.
  18. Turn off the stove and spread a teaspoon of ghee on top.
  19. Keep it covered for 5 mins. Serve hot.
