This traditional Bolognese is flavored with garlic, oregano, and a hint of Worcestershire sauce. Everyone needs a basic spaghetti bolognese recipe that still tastes great, no matter how simple. Get that depth of flavour by cooking the sauce very gently until it's super rich. It doesn't take a lot of ingredients (or a lot of money) to make a classic Bolognese recipe.

Steps to make Spaghetti Bolognese:
  1. Chop carrot, celery and onion into fine pieces
  2. Melt butter in preheated pan. Add shredded beef to pan and heat it up till it is light brown. Then add shredded pork/sausage meat.
  3. When pork/sausage meat turns light brown, add a tad of salt, sugar and pepper. Cook for 15 minutes till mingled meat gets brown and a bit crispy.
  4. Heat up olive oil in another preheated pan. Add vegetables and cook for circa 10 minutes until they get soft.
  5. Add vegetables into meat and mix them up evenly.
  6. Add tomato blocks and concentrated paste and a bit more salt, sugar and pepper. Heat up evenly.
  7. The Bolognese sauce can be concentrated in two ways: 1, heat in preheated oven at 180°C for 1.5 hours; 2, simmer in pan on low heat for 1.5 hours and stir frequently.
  8. Boil water and add salt and a teaspoon of olive oil. Then cook spaghetti.
  9. Pour Bolognese sauce onto spaghetti. Top the dish with Parmesan cheese shreds.

Get that depth of flavour by cooking the sauce very gently until it's super rich. It doesn't take a lot of ingredients (or a lot of money) to make a classic Bolognese recipe. What it does take, though, is patience for the sauce to achieve the ideal authentic texture. This sauce is ideal for spaghetti, but can be used with any kind of pasta - great for Lasagna as well.
