Combine flour, salt and sugar on a separate plate and put the coconut in a bowl. Dip each prawn in: flour mixture first, egg mixture second, coconut third. At this point they can be placed on waxed paper and refrigerated until ready to cook. OR Heat oil in a large skillet over medium high heat, and fry to golden on each side.

The ingredients needed to make Coconut Prawns:
  1. Get 10 prawns peeled and deveined but with tails on
  2. Take 30 g gluten free plain flour
  3. Get 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  4. Get 1/2 teaspoon salt
  5. Take 1 egg beaten
  6. Get 25 g desiccated coconut
  7. Take 25 g gluten free breadcrumbs
  8. Get Olive oil for cooking
  9. Get Sweet chilli sauce for dipping

Repeat until all prawns are breaded. At this point you can refrigerate the prawns for up to two hours until you are ready to cook. Hold shrimp by tail, and dredge in flour, shaking off excess flour. Dip in egg/beer batter; allow excess to drip off.

Steps to make Coconut Prawns:
  1. In one bowl mix together the flour, garlic powder and salt - In another bowl have the beaten egg - In the final bowl mix together the desiccated coconut and breadcrumbs - Dip each prawn in the flour then the egg and finally the breadcrumbs
  2. Pour oil into a shallow pan until it covers the bottom - Place on a medium heat for a couple of minutes - Add the prawns and cook for 2-3 minutes each side or until golden - Serve with a sweet chilli dipping sauce

Hold shrimp by tail, and dredge in flour, shaking off excess flour. Dip in egg/beer batter; allow excess to drip off. Roll shrimp in coconut, and place on a baking sheet lined with wax paper. Flip them a couple of times as they cook to ensure an even colour. Place the coconut in another shallow dish.
