  1. Get Chocolate cake (i used lft over) crumbled
  2. Make ready 1/2 no Apple - diced
  3. Prepare Cashew nuts
  4. Get 5 tbsps Caster sugar
  5. Prepare 2 tbsps Butter
  6. Prepare 1/2 cup Milk
  7. Make ready 1/2 cup Heavy cream
  8. Get 2 nos Egg Yolks
  9. Make ready 1 tsp Vanilla essence
  10. Get 3 tbsps Sugar

Instructions to make Trifle Shots:
  1. To make the custard : heat milk and cream till they are hot - no need to boil. In another bowl/saucepan, whisk together sugar and eggs nicely till well combined and pale yellow. To this mixture add the cream milk mixture and vanilla essence. Stirring continuously put it on low flame and let it boil and thicken. Make sure you stir continuously but not that vigorously. Once the custard is thick and ready, remove it fire and let it cool in refrigerator.
  2. Place caster sugar in a pan and put it on medium fire. Once all the sugar caramelizes and becomes light brown, add the nuts a butter and mix well till caramel is coated well over the nuts and all the sugar has caramelized. Remove from fire, add apple and mix well. Keep this aside.
  3. Assembling the trifle : Place crumbled cake in the bottom. Add little caramelized apple nuts mixture(add little of the liquid as well that comes after u add the apple-this will keep the cake moist.) Then pour the custard. Repeat the layers. Refrigerate for 1 hour minimum. Decorate with chocolate chips before serving.
